Just bought my new van, a Westy California.

What circuit powers the rear interior lights? Is it the leisure battery or the starter battery?

Also the stereo in the cab - is this linked to the leisure battery??

Thanks,

Ian.

As standard they are both run from the main battery, but do as Rob says and you`ll know for defo.

There is a thread on the Brickyard Westy forum that shows you how to swap it over to work from the leisure battery.

I'm pretty sure the above is true, but *why* would did VW/Westfalia set things up this way? I can see the sense in the fridge running off the main battery, as 12V is only meant to be used from that when the engine is running (otherwise you'll have a flat battery v.quick) and you can't normally run it off 12V when the engine is off, but what would be the logic in having the stereo and particulary the interior lights *not* running of the leisure battery??? Seems daft to me!
