Assuming I had a TD Westy T25 to start with, is it possible to retrofit an Eberspächer heater into a bus that hasn't had one factory fitted? How much would this cost to do (both parts & labour) and are there better/cheaper options available (assuming no 240V hook-up)? Thanks

Very easy.

the heater is box shaped similar to a shoe box in size.

two wires go to a thermostat (supplied) ...which is powered by the Auxilliary battery

gas supply from your gas bottle (propane or butane)

a vent (supplied) to the outside (under the van)

and for safeties sake have the gas connections checked by an engineer

I know nothing about propex - but i here nothing but good things about them.

I have fitted a eber in my van - not very easy but well worth it - specially as mine is a diesel.

I don't know of anyone that fits them though.

First of all you have to decide where to put it. Mine is under the rock and roll bed - but a lot of folks on her put them in the passenger footwell - tucked away.

I think a second hand eber is £200 ish....

Thanks for all the info. BTW part of the reason I'm asking is I've yet to actually buy a T25, but want one with a heater and was wondering whether I should only go for one that already has a heater or if it would be affordable and practical to add one later...

if it hasn't got one then you can use it as a bargaining tool

as well as the usual stuff...

when choosing mine I too wanted it to be as perfect as poss so I chose a van with documented history....knowing when things were, or were not, changed, replaced ...or repaired even is priceless on such old vans.

I have contributed to it now myself...thankfully just improvements.
