Where to sell a Leisuredrive T25

We've owned a VW camper since 1987. It has a 1990 Passat diesel engine bored out to 1900 cc.The blue paintwork needs attention because of dings and scratches. We recently lent it to a relative who returned it saying "a red light keeps flashing on the dash". In spite of this he continued to drive it and now it seems the head gasket is leaking but I top up the water every day and continue to drive it.

Long distance trips have always been slow and I have long considered fitting a different engine. VW want £4000.oo+ for a replacement which is out of the question. We have a second car and are in no hurry to buy another camper until next spring.

What I should like to know is roughly what price I can expect to get and where I should advertise the vehicle. At the last MOT I spent £900.00 on tyres, cam belt, injector pipes, glow plugs, hoses, ball joints, starter motor, alternator and battery and the garage told me it should sail through the next few MOTs.

Thank you in anticipation of your advice,

Sincerely, Richard Gibbs.

Sorry to here of the engine troubles. You can get 1.9 diesel replacements from scrapped vw golfs or seats .Or get the head gasket done .Prices for 1.9 diesel engines vary but non turbos aprox £150.00 onwards.

If you try to sell it with any engine issues you will only be offered silly money. With a decent second hand or recon engine installed you may more than double it's present value OR even decide to keep it..

Where and how to sell could depend on where you live but popular places are eBay, Autotrader or Preloved websites.
