Fitting a fan

Hi folks
Just wondering if anyone has fitted a radiator fan to a 1.9 before. The reason for asking is that have just returned from a trip to Yorkshire, and in the heavy traffic engine got v warm. There does not appear to be a fan currently in place [although am more than prepared to be told otherwise] and thought that the ability to have a dashboard switch for those hot times would be good.
Is this something anyone has done/considered, or am i just mad?

No your not mad But the person who removed it was...there should be a fan fitted if not then you can get one from Billy739 maybe
the wiring for it and the automatic switch should be already there..

The fans on the other side of the radiator by the way. You wont see it from the front. Maybe its there but just not working. Could just be your thermostat.

I bought a new T25 2.1 and the previous owner said he had fitted an upgrade of a large rad with fan on front.
Compared to my old 1.9 this one stays cool all the time and very rarely hear the fan kick in.
I do not have any info availble but someone else out there must have had this done.

Pull the spare wheel out of its carrier, and the fan is visible up the back of the rad. (well it should be if you have one)
Pull the lower grill off and you can see the thermo switch that runs it. Unplug the wireing plug, use a piece of HEAVY cable (50 amps) and jump the red wire across to one of the others, the fan should run, try either terminal, fan is two speed. If it doesn`t work then you may have a wiring problem, or a nacked fan.
