Appologies, I did see you on the hard shoulder, but i only saw you at the last minute as I popped out from behind a truck, was doing about 80 at the time in the outside lane, I would have been miles away by the time I could have got over and it was past a junction.

Also wouldn't have been too happy about being on the hard should with a van full.

So, soz for not stopping, hope it wasn't terminal.

The only way i thought I could offer support was via McGill, so appologies Ian for the random text if you don't have each others numbers but i did wait for a while at the services.

Mate, how embarresing! never even saw ya!! On the way back from the Big Chill driving down the motorway (very chilled...) when my battery shorted out - mad sparks came out of the underneath of the passenger seat - which was quite amusing and then lost all power... by the time I'd pulled over onto the hard shoulder it had righted itself again - just as I was contemplating spending the night being towed back up to Scotland!! The whole family then took the opportunity of running into the bushes to relieve themselves whilst I double checked everything under the engine lid!

Isn't it ironic you were going along the same bit of road at the same time - could have gone back up the road in convoy - bloody VW's - sometimes ask myself why we bother!!
