Hi All
Okay so I thought it was an easy question but looks to be a bit of a mission now.
I would like to get some paint mixed to match the original colour of my van L90D. The supplier of the paint (Rust-oleum Combicolour) I plan to purchase can mix any colour but doesn't know the real world code for VW L90D Pastel White.
L90D is a VW code for the paint but I am after a RAL, AFnor, NCS, BS381c or BS4800 code that will allow me to get the paint mixed.
Thanks
Kev
PS - I know I might not get an exact match and might have to do an eyeball with some swatches.

It's a VW colour, if you talk to an automotive paint supplier they will have the scheme to mix the colour.
The colour is not a RAL, or BS colour, it's a VW colour with a VW code.
You may find a similar colour, but not bob on, it doesn't work like that, BS, RAL etc colours aren't just renamed for automotive use, they are their own colours in their own right.

,,,,,,,,

thats right and there's only two shades of L90D T25's use the later shade which is lighter ,, ,, not like some of these newer cars that can have over 5 shades for the same paint code

whats the point of the bloody codes if there's 5 frigin shades

Hi
I understand that L90D is a VW colour. But other paint code systems do define colours with their code. There are exact matches for some colours across the codes.

I think if you check it out RAL works exctly like that.
http://www.ral.de/
RAL7326 Ford Blue, RAL7336 John Deere Green, RAL7354 STILL Orange, fork-lift trucks
RAL is exclusively involved in the definition and standardisation of colour shades. It doesn't develop or create colours it only defines colours currently in use. There are a few VW colours which have been defined by RAL.
e.g RAL1014 L567 VW elfenbein ivory, RAL 1004 gelb yellow code only for microbuses.
Ok so I guess L90D is not one of them. I also know that I can get water based L90D at any automotive paint supplier. So I have order a can of L90D from VW and I guess I will have to make up a sample for combicolour to match.
