Hi.

Does anyone know any good place to get those automatic engine bay extinuishers. The type where there is a bottle and you tie a hose around the engine bay. It works a bit like a sprinkler system, if there is a fire it burns through part of the hose and the hose then sprays foam or liquid all over the engine bay, hopefully putting out the fire.

I saw one reviewed in camper and commercial about 4 months ago maybe but I can't find the copy.

Thanks for any help.

Surely just easier to make sure all the fuel hoses and electrical wires are correctly mounted/protected and in good condition..
the fuel hoses are the biggest culprit of all engine bay fires... it doesnt cost much to change the hoses...

You can get this kind of thing from any motorsport equipment retailer. Demon Tweeks is probably the best known and I've used them in the past. These sorts of systems are mandatory on racing cars. You can get anything from a simple extinguisher connected to a hose with a remote release, to a fully plumbed-in system with an array of outlets.
