fridge gas

pulled the fridge out of my westie and found that the fitting holding the propane line to the burner is threaded.
Any good ideas how i can loosen this?
I'm a bit concerned this fitting is could leak gas but don't have an external supply to test it with.
Anyone know where i could get a check done in the nottingham or east mids area?
