table fitting/cutting floor?

got one of those tables with thick leg-one pole . has the big cup/seat that fits into floor . looking at depth of seat i presume i have to cut floor. best way of fitting/sealing/waterproofing ? cheers elvis

Had a look under mine, seems the original hole is just that, a hole cut into floor to accomodate the boss part of the base. Be carefull where you site it as the floor is corrugated and look out for any pipes etc.
You may have to use spacers.
To cut the hole if you don't have a hole cutter, mark out the diameter and drill a series of small holes as close as posiible to each other, cut hole to hole using a junior hacksaw blade or other, knock out the centre and clean up the edge with a file, rust-proof the edge of the hole.
After fitting, slap some underseal on the underneath.

when i took it from a breaker there was no sign of a rubber seal etc and no sealing on back of floor plate.cut a tight/small hole as poss and a good ole slapping of underseal?

That'll do fine. Use the correct size self-tappers
