NEW 1.6 TD - Cooling System Bleeding - HELP!
Posted: 24 Jul 2007, 22:28
I've now got connie the camper fitted out with a spanking new JX 1.6TD and she's running like a dream
Just wanted to check a couple of things on the cooling system.
1. I don't have an auxillary water pump - should I reinstall one?
2. Filled the system, ran the engine, opened bleed screw on rad and coolant came out (incidentally rear of van was on ramps at the time). Closed bleed screw. Drove Connie off ramps (finally!! hooray!!). Ran engine again, warmed her up and she started getting a bit hot (past the halfway mark on the gauge)
. Opened bleed screw - nothing. Rad's not even warm. What gives? It's not the thermostat cos all the engine pipes and the heater pipes are hot.
3. Fan didn't come on so want to check it - how do I get to it!?
Desperately want to get campering now! Any ideas?
