Hard to belive with all the rain and clouds in the UK, but in Europe the weather is barmy with temps up to 40 degrees centigrade. As we are off over there in a couple of weeks (1983 1.9 DG) I was wondering has anyone fitted an extra cooling fan such as a Kenlowe etc? Any hints / tips appreciated... :P

Thanks, I ran the van for ages tonight getting it really hot until eventually the fan kicked in so at least it's working. I think all is well but i'll flush the system and refill anyway. Nice one. 8)

Well,

Spain is not hot but depends where... driving last year from Madrid to the South, Sevilla, air temperature was closed to 45ºC, if you tell me is not hot...

I am living currently in Canary Islands and here the temperature usually is around 25ºC, some days 34ºC or 35ºC but just some days and because of the Sahara desert and hot winds from the southeast...

One friend has installed a Kenlowe fan to his Land Rover Defender 110 and is one of the best fans I've ever seen... you can select diferent positions to let the fan works... and here a lot of people with T25 or T3 VW vans have an electric fan installed to turn it on when the temp of the van gets crazy...

i know it gets hot over there, ive been there when the wind blows from africa  but it isnt as hot as kenya on the equator where the "safari" vws were designed to run, you can put fans all over the place if you want? but the one thats there already does the job. if it gets too hot,i would fit a kenlowe(on the dash) so it blows on you and stops you sweating after all that temperature guage watching
