Has anyone removed this stuff intact and refitted it.

I need to route a cable through the cab roof and into the high top....drilling from the top is impossible as the hole has to be near the A pillar post, and the angle of the front high top is preventing access with a drill...

is it a big job?

we have just broken a caravelle and in the process we removed the headling.

If you want to do it 100% without cutting we found that all the glass had to be removed (were doing this anyway) as the headling is stuck/glued under the window rubbers and wraps around that metal lip inside the windows.

We started with the windscreen at the front - removed it, unstuck the headlining. It was actually rather strong, and did come away quite easily once we had picked off enough to get a good grip and a steady pull.

The is some metal that folds in to pinch the headling above the doors and sliding door - a small screwdriver "unbent" these tabs enought to release the headlining...but getting it back may be trickier!

The supports that hold the lining taut come out really easily, roll them over so they form a valley rather than a hill, and they ping out of the mounting holes. I went down one side of the bus peeling and pulling, and hubby did the other. Make sure you catch and keep the rubber stoppers on the end of the wires!

At the colums, some patience is necessary to get the "covering" bits off, but they did come away without distorting. The worst section was in the boot - it was stuck to the backing insulation, which unless you are very careful can damage the backing stuff.

If you wanted to run a cable down - you coud mabe get away with doing one side only? And possibly cutting with a really sharp craft knife along the top of the windows..... but dont know how well it would go back - would need some pretty strong glue to keep it taut.
