hi first of this is jamesc76 posting on behalf of lambro28!

Right ive tryed in vain to help lambro out as he got recoverd home by the aa on sat night! ive checked the engine over and it cranks ok! Second battery jumping first so plenty of power from them,

Problem 1: theres air still visable in the line between the filter and the fuel injection pump, and for the life of me i cant bleed it out am i doing something wrong, or more to the piont is there a correct way to bleed it ? oh the fuel guage is on 1/4 of a tank we put 15 ltrs in it !

2: the glow plugs are only getting 9.8 volts does it need more, to me it should have at least 12!

3: i cant check the compresion as dont have a tester but when bleeding it the front 2 inj (nearest fuel pump) squirt well and the back 2 dont !!!

Basicly im stuck so please help i can get back over to lambros tommorow night to help out more but need your help!!

Try taking off the return pipe (either undo the banjo or take the pipe of it).
This helps no end in priming the diesel into the pump - i know, i was battling with a leaky diesel system for a couple of weeks. (thanks for the tip futbus!).

A tip from Nottingham diesel specialists (who did everything they possibly could to stop me taking the bus to them!) was to get rid of the fuel filter that takes a return pipe. I took this out and replaced it with a filter that only filters the inlet pipe....

Anyway, that and new pipes around the filter, fixed my problem.

Good luck....

9.8 volts with glow plugs connected is ok.
Good advise from ringo about the fuel filter if it a late one with thermostat on return line, they cause nothing but problems.

Is the fuel cut off solenoid getting power?

Little wire that goes to the injector pump.

that first thing that i checked last night was the fip solanoid it has a healthy 12 volts!! the fuel filter is only on the inlet side so cant be that but i will try the remove the leak off
