hi all

ive recently replaced my engine in my t25 its a 1.9 petrol watercooled
with a second hand engine

when the van ticks over nothing comes on , but when i drive it for the first few miles the buzzer comes on ,

any ideas ,ive checked the wiring and replaced the oil pressure switch

Any history on the 'new' engine?
Presume you have done an oil change?

The buzzer only sounds with low oil pressure AND over 2000 revs.
there are 2 oil pressure switches, cant remember which one does what.
Did you replace the correct one?

If you have replaced the right one, I'd ask a friendly mechanic for an oil pressure test, get figures rather than an OK, not OK result.

The sender you want is the one hidden behind the waterpump pulley that is the over 2000rpm one. A right git to get to. I have an early engine in a late van. The engine does not use the high sender so I have earthed the wire. Could this be your problem? If the wire is not earthed the buzzer will sound. The low sender works the other way round buzz when earthed.

i did an oil change before running it up

now this gets a little complicated the van is a c reg when i cam to replace the engine i had to change over all the water cooling as what was on it the new ,(second hand ) engine didnt match up

i only connected up one pressure switch so i suppose thats the problem

i probably need to earth the other

I cured mine by useing 20/50 mineral oil.

i had same problem,have wrong switches fitted,the one at back of engine (low pressure,high rpm) should be 0.9 bar & the one at left side of engine (low pressure,low rpm) should be 0.3 bar.They have the pressure stamped on them & were quite easy to remove with a long screwdriver & light tap with a hammer to break the seal & then unscrew by hand.The switches are only £2.50 each from gsf.
