No, in fact if I tun the ignition off while the light switch is on the engine carries on (Diesel) but as soon as I switch light switch off the engine stops and ignition light goes out. Wierd!

is the plug on the back of the switch on the right way round! most vehicles have a "secret" way of starting and running with out the key, usually by swapping the connections one of the switches, but i haven't heard of this on a t25!! other wise are there any signs of rust/water leeks around the windscreen near the colcks????

Thanks for the help so far! Switch on the right way round and no sign of any rust, its all pretty clean, nothing has been altered since it was all working fine. :? Any more thoughts, keep em coming.

Sounds like an earth fault at a headlight.
Power flows from sbattery to sidelight instead of earthing it then flows through headlight to light switch and to switched side of ignition switch.

Thanks Tony, ill have a look at that, would the earth be on the 'crown' to the left of the fuse box, or do they have a direct earth?

The front lights earth to the crown by the relay plate but I'd also look at the connections at the light unit.
