you can get a special window/glass scraper from B+Q etc for a couple of quid - its a stanley blade that is at 90 degrees to the handle and will remove paint/stickers/bird poo etc. use meths to get of any glue left on.

Always better with a slightly blunt blade as a really sharp one can scratch the windows. If meths doesnt work to remove the residue, try white spirit.

Try picking at a corner of the tint with your finger nail or something, once you have enough of it to get a good grip of it, gently peel the film off the window and then use meths / white spirit to remove the glue.

do NOT use a blade if you have a heated rear window!!, couple of real good tips, park the van window facing the sun, it will warm and soften the glue, or use a hair dryer (not heat gun- tooo hot) and warm the film, again it softens the glue.
to clean off the remaining glue use WD40, its the best ever! just try it guys, you will be amazed!, itwill also clean film when it gets grubby! cheers jon

Halfords also sell a product called "Sticky Stuff Remover". Take off pretty much anything sticky. Peel the film off, spray it on, leave it for about 3 - 5 minutes and then use something like a squeegy to take the glue.

hi jill, i apply window film to our local nhs hospitals and sometimes have to remove old films, so the easyest way to remove it is , firstly remove the hard coat with your finger nail, then spay the glue residue with a good quality glass cleaner, then use a brand new blade over the wet adhesive to remove the glue. do not use white spirit or thinners this will soffen and smear the glue everywhere, glass cleaner will make the glue go like snott or the stuff call magic dots, you may need to do this twice. :D :D :D
