Which pipes exactly do you need? Starting from the airbox down.

From VW, although by metal one I presume you mean the smaller bore breather pipe?

Only use a VW dealer under pain of death. I had to pay £50 + VAT for the rubber air inlet hose.
If it's the oil pipes you're after go to Pirtech and have them fabricated and properly swaged for about a tenner a throw.

i think one is the inlet to the turbo which is metal and holds oil and the other is rubber which is the outlet

There are 2 oil hoses: the inlet comes from the oil filter housing and goes into the top of the turbo; the outlet is the same diameter pipe and comes out of the bottom of the turbo, going into the sump via a banjo bolt at the lowest point to complete the circuit. The metal one is just a rubber one that is armoured. Armoured is best for both, I would say.
The air hoses are much bigger - about 40mm or so in diameter. The inlet is actually a sort of bellow-type thing; the outlet is L-shaped and costs £50 + VAT from VW. An old radiator hose of the right size and shape works just as well.

Ah, that'll be the oil feed. That's not the £50 one, thankfully, but I don't know where you will get one at all. Take it into Pirtek and have them make you a hydraulic hose to replace it. They will do it while you wait and it costs around a tenner. If they swage it all up, it will be the proper job and will handle about 2000 psi with no trouble at all (about 100 times what your oil pressure is likely to be). I've been running one with no problems and I reckon it allows more oil flow than that crappy old metal pipe.

Just replaced my Turbo oil feed pipe for £28 + VAT from local VW dealership. Wasn't an urgent job for me to do which was a good job coz it took nearly a year to come in once it was ordered.
