I have a small whine from the back end when under power.
could it just be CVs or am I lookin at more serious gearbox investigations?
Anyone have any clues?

Checked your gearbox for oil level lately? Gears all select OK?

Wheel bearing usually hum or drone, not whine... and noise changes slightly dependent on any cornering loads.

A whine is normally the diff or gearbox... as long as you really mean a whine, and not a drone or a hum :)

If its started whining then its not good...
Either the output bearings have started to go or the pinon bearing has.. either way the mess will get a lot worse and something will get broke.. then you are into another box... or a very big repair bill.. better to do something about it BEFORE it breaks...
Aidan "Beaker" in the club does repairs/rebiulds as required...
