New to the VW scene, I merrily filled up the underslung water tank on my T25 right to the brim just to check I could in fact get running water through the taps - all seems OK! I then needed to pop down to the shops in the van and suddenly realised that I would be carrying (x) litres of water in the tank which I don't need.

So question is ; How on earth do you drain water out of the tank?

I have a drain tap on the WASTE water tank so presumably when I have a sink full of water and take out the plug the water then drains into the waste water tank where I can simply turn a tap on the underslung tank to get rid of waste water.

The problemI have is I've filled up the main water tank but now want to get rid of the water so I'm not driving around with it slopping around. Can't believe that I'd have to sit there with the pump whirring waiting for all the water to transfer into the sink where it can then go into the waste water tank.

Any ideas?

what conversion is it, as different conversions have different tanks and different ways of getting rid of the water

On a westy joker LHD about a foot to the right of the waste water tank is a drainage outlet for the fresh water tank. You will have to get on your knees and look underneath! It should be a plastic screw cap. Undo it and let if flow!

OK so I have a pretty unusual camper configuration for a T25. It's a high-top genuine camper conversion called an Autocruiser.

It's got the kitchen and fridge unit at the back with, believe it or not, a shower cubicle too!

If you haven't got a drain tap on the freshwater tank is there anything fitted to the pipe that runs from the tank to the sink? On our van the pipe had been cut and a plastic T piece inserted. The horizontal part of the T connected the two lengths of pipe together and the other end had a crude homemade stopper in it (i.e. a large rusty bolt!). Take the stopper out of the T and the water duly followed.

Maybe you could cut the pipe and fit something similar, or just disconnect the pipe from the tank every time you need to drain it (assuming that the jubilee clip isn't completely rusted, in which case cut it off and replace it).
