I'll need to install a false floor in my syncro. There are some things I'd like to know before I start:

1) What's the best material to make it from?
2) How high off the floor does it need to be for one of those island table bases (like Reimo and Fiamma make)?
3) What sort of insulation and bracing should I have underneath?

If anyone has pictures or details of a floor they fitted that would be very helpful.

why do you need a false floor? is it just for the table? Mine has a hole in the floor that the fiamma base socket thing fits into. Not sure if the fact that its a syncro stops you doing this?

My Devon has an island table and obviously has a false floor as there is no hole in the metal floor of the van where the table base is (looking from underneath the van).

I think all campers have a false floor of some sort, otherwise you'd have the ridged metal showing. I presumed that in my Devon this is raised to some extent and I wondered if anyone knew by how much, and what sort of bracing/support was needed under the floor (presumably best made out of some sort of covered plywood).
