Hi

Looking at an elite recon engine due to knackered cylinder head and general ropey old engine. I know I'm being a bit of a numb nut but what exactly is the surcharge / exchange unit thing? Does it actually cost an extra £150? Do you have to pay it and claim it back if they can recon your old engine?

They want your old engine in exchange for the new one. £150 sounds like the extra they hold as a deposit until you send them your new engine. If they are removing and fitting then you don't pay it.

they charge 150 on top of engine and 70 quid for shipping it to you. you then have to pay to get it sent back to them. Just chased my surcharge refund. they apparantly only give you this back once they have stripped down your old engine.... didn't tell me this when i ordered it.
