Me too. I'm new on here by the way. First post, found site via brickyard. I have put a dropdown 12v monitor in mine. would like to hook up freeview if poss. Am I right in thinking that the freeview box will generate the picture and a monitor will display. What I mean is does it have to go through a TV or is a standard monitor ok? Plays DVDS?PS2 fine.

Cheers.

Woodman.

my set up is a 12v drop down screen and a sony dvd player/head unit so this 12v freeview is perfect for my set up and sounds like it would be ok for yours

Hi mini_bus, Can you tell me is yours wired to a monitor or a tv? and can you pick up all the freeview channels with the rig/is the picture clear?

My concerns are; that my monitor is just a "monitor" and not a TV, but I have this idea in my head that the freeview box generates the picture and the monitor displays, if that makes sense? So would like someone to confirm that they too have the freeview box running through the monitor?

a cheap way of getting freeview for your van is to buy a durabrand box from asda its a tiny little silver box it comes with a mains adapter you need to cut the end off and attach a cigarette lighter plug to it, which you can buy from car spares shop or maplins . then you need to buy a scart to phono lead which is a scart lead with three plugs on the end white red and yellow which then go into your inputs on your screen monitor or tv. oh and you need a wideband tv aerial. if you need any help or advice you can phone me on 07968769366 cheers steve

ive got the asda on in mine, the only one i could find that works on 12v with a low enough current draw to be viable. works ok, but the digital service isnt up to scratch yet, when they up the power it will be ok......

i didnt pi$$ about with wideband antennas tho, i got one of these
[img:200:200]http://i6.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/a0/e4/3379_2.JPG[/img] for £19 and took it out of its casees, so its small enough, and away you go....
