I thought I would replace the rear silencer on my 2lt Aircooled today. Expected it to take a couple of hours tops . How wrong I was took me all day started at 10 finnished at 7.30pm .

What a day . This was the hardest thing Ive had to do

top bolt on the offside rounded which meant removing the engine tinware to get at it that meant removing the alternator ect

My advice get quick fit to do it if you need to replace the silencer

Was I unlucky or is this normal with the Aircooled

Perro,,,,,this is quite normal when you think fitting a new silencer to an A/C T25 which should be a piece of pi$$.

I had the use of a 2 post lift, air tools inc air saw, grinder etc, when changing ours from a standard silencer to a quiet pack,,,,,,,,,,it still took me about 1.5 hours longer than the 1/2 hour I thought it was gunna take.

Regards

Fritz,,,,,,,,,, :D

Here we have an outbreak of the t25 repair multiplier syndrome....

estimate how long is should take, at least double it and then add some!!!
