Does anyone know?
It starts out fine but after bout 20/30 mins when i get up to 50/60 it starts to cut out and slow down. It was thought this was a fuel pump issue and i just had a new carb fitted as that looked loose but this has not fixed the problem...
does anyone think it could have anything to do with the battery/leisure battery as i had one fitted not long before i started getting these problems?

Could be your HT coil breaking down - I am guessing its a petrol?

Typical syptoms for a coil break down are - it runs ok for a while then cuts out. Leave it 10 mins or so for the coil to cool and its on again till it gets hot, then same thing.

You are the paying customer you have certain rights don't let them walk over you.

A replacement coil will be cheap enough £20 - £30 new I guess. A second hand one - maybe £5. But be carefull, older 12V HT coils were 12KV modern ones are 24KV I think.

while the garage muppets are looking at your motor, get em to look at the dizzy cap, rotor, and the wires where they plug into the dizzy.
for the £100 did you get a service or just a looking at? cheers jon

thanks for all the advice...for the 100 big ones i got a new carb (bout 40 quid) and it fitted (bout another 40 quid + vat), because that was loose...it was thought that was the problem
have sent it back to them anyway..hope next time it doesn't happen again, thats the fourth breakdown truck i've been in in the last 3 weeks...the novelty has definately worn off now!

try running with the fuel cap off,,, or when it stops take the cap off immediately and see if you hear it suck air in,,, tank breather could be blocked and would cause exactly the symptoms you're describing.
