Are all 1.6td JX's ready to accept a rev-counter?

Would a rev-counter from a 1.6 td JX work in my 1.9 td AAZ ? My van was originally a 1.6 td JX but has the standard speedo and clock dash-board. Are the cables and plugs at back of my standard binnacle ready to work a rev-counter?

Or will it require pcb replacement and loads of wiring changes?

why would some one change a rev counter for a clock, my jx has a dig clock between the speedo and rev counter, is it an early van fitted with the jx engine.

Mine's originally a JX 1987 model but it definitely came without a rev counter - just a speedo on left and huge clock on right. Will a JX rev counter go straight in?

it will fit, but depending on the year and spec it may not have the correct wiring or plug.......... themn it maybe wont have the correct reading as a derv takes its rev reading off the alternator "W" connection, and if the pulley size is different the rev counter will be incorrect.......

Yes, it should work. The wiring for the tacho comes straight off the alternator and the AAZ alternator has the terminal that you need, although you need to change from a spade connector to a bullet-type.
You might need to run a wire from the engine bay to the dash if it ain't there already.

Cheers Mocki and Mark. This is looking promising. I've found the W terminal on the alternator. Will it also require an ignition 12v+ and an earth?
Thanks for responding.
