Leisure Battery

Wired my leisure battery up before i went away at the weekend.
Connected through a relay onto my main battery and connected my interior lighting and stereo straight off the lesisure battery.

Seemed to charge up ok but we only got about 4 hours out of the stereo.

I thought i would get most of the weekend out of it by giving it a small charge every morning.

I don't know if I've got the right kind of leisure battery or it's just knackered.

Anyone give me some tips?

First job.
Take battery out. Charge it. measure Voltage. leave 24 Hours. Check voltage.
Voltage should be at least 12.5V even after 24 Hours.

How long it will last depends on the size of the battery and how much current you draw.

A typical small car battery will be 35 Ahr. which in an ideal word will supply 1 A for 35 hours. or 35 A for 1 hour.
Typical interior light will draw 1 A

well, 4 hours on the stereo? sounds like a weak battery.
