Hello
My power steering rack is leaking both sides at the gators...I just took to a garage and he said a whole new rack..might it be the seals? It may be possible that it got knocked on a speed bump...could this have loosened it?
Where can i get one from?
Thanks!

ok - europarts quoted me £750 ha haaa...
but the commercial van place nearby said £269 - but not sure how long it will take...and im supposed to be going to devon in 3 weeks! Any ideas how to maybe slow down the leak?...i've been keeping it topped up as much as i can.

Have seen bottles of additive in car accesory shops which claim to swell seals and 'o' rings etc. Ally, to 'cure' leaks but haven't any knowledge of if they actually work or not, poss worth a try as a temp. measure if you're thinking of changing the rack soon. wouldn't think they're a good solution long term.

look for power steering rack/box reconditioners in the yellow pages, you might have to send them yours to be done though
there are loads of companies in the uk

my old man had a leak on his power steering rack and used some slick 50, not the engine one but one designed for power steering, and the leak stopped, he reckons that it reconditioned the seals which had probably dried out. There is no guarantee that it will work, but it might be worth trying. let us know how you get on.
