Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how to free up the sliding window on a type 2 T3?

Thankyou everyone for your help in advance.

Well,mine had stiff sliders.
I dug out the moss with a small screwdriver and then sprayed WD40 in the runner.
Wished I hadn't though, because now it's so loose that it opens wide when you open it a little bit, especially at 80mph :?

I had same problem - years of moss and gunk.
A good session with a pressure washer, screwdriver, etc and it eventually moved.

We had this same problem, i.e. sliding windows which wouldn't slide.
I took the unit out and stripped it. Then replaced the channel with some from woolies, cost about £12.
Only thing is that the channel is just a little too tight and I couldn't get the glass in.
I was almost in despair until I realized that the velvety coating in the channel also extended over the outside of the channel. I “peeled"| it off the outside of the channel with a Stanley blade and everything fitted fine! :D

By the way, my camper will do 80mph too. Especially if you drop it from somewhere really high!

Hi everyone,

I managed to get mine to slide freely in the end. I used Dry Lube and it works a treat.

The only thing I need to get hold of now is a replacement window catch for the sliding window.

Thankyou everyone for your help.
