Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before, I have searched the forums on JK and here but couldn't find anything related

I have a 1988 t25 Auto sleeper high top, only had it for a month and am very happy with it.......except the dash lights and the cigarette lighter don't work (Purchased like this), tried the obvious (to me!) problems, checked the fuses, had the dash in pieces, changed the bulbs but don't seem to be getting anywhere. I am getting a bit frustrated and confess that electrical aren't my 'forte' (when I saw the 'rats nest' behind the fuse box I shuddered!)

I haven't got a voltmeter but I guess that would be the next step to see if there is any power to the printed circuit where the bulbs go, but as the high beam / indicator leds work I assumed the rest of the printed circuit was fine.

Can anyone recommend and good vw electrician in Somerset / Dorset

Many thanks in advance

Simon

The printed circuit board on the dash pod is a fairly regular feature on here.
Have a search.
Just because the hi beam works doesn't remove the possibility of a faulty track,
Instrument lights can be dimmed from the wheel under the light switch, The dimmers can fail, my 'dimmer' is either on or off
Does the light on the cig lighter work? The element and light have separate live feeds but the same earth.

Get a voltmeter, You will need it sooner or later.
