Radiator Drain Plug

Well was servicing the van on saturday, and to my horror i think the rad drain plug must have been over tweaked when i changed the water last year,
the plug is just turning but not turning on the thread. Has anyone else had a similar problem? is there a way to get the drain plug back out??? or is my only alternative a new rad?
