Hi,

I have a berlin 8 man drive away awning which I am about to use for the first time. It came free with my 1982 LHD westy a while ago. I couldn't be bothered using until I realised that a family of four doesn't go into a van for a fortnight. To save me looking a complete wally when I get to the campsite where does that beaded peice of fabric slide into above my door? can't work it out and don't have the space to try it and there wern't any instructions with it.

thanks in advance as always guys.

PS I was travelling north to Scotland up the M74 on Monday and saw loads of vans coming south, what did I miss?

see ya

do you have a plastic strip like this

it should go onto the fabric strip and then the other side goes onto your guttering

Hi Owlets

No I don't. I have a metal poll which the awning fits around and I assume clips to the area above the door. There is then some fabric with has a beaded end which must slide into a trench or something similar. Can't see where it would go though?

What is that on the picture?

cheers

My awning although not the same make has the same arrangement. The metal pole which slides through the fabric channel attaches to the gutter with metal clips (3 in my case) The round plastic strip slides into one side of the Just Kampers figure of eight strip and the other attaches to the gutter. There are two options for connecting to the van. Use both or just the metal pole on it's own. Using both gives a watertight attachment as it closes the gap between the metal pole and the van. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

I seem to be missing the figure of 8 strip. Now it all makes sense. No doubt just campers sell it so I will get some.

cheers everyone
