Where does the tank go!
I am really thinking about it now. My new job will give me a 40mile round trip and with the holidays in Cornwall and Southend the cheeper fuel looks good. Also fed up with the Butane freezing and the heating packing up!
But not happy about a tank taking up interior space, any photos.

When you say under the rock and roll bed is that just the gap where I have my speakers (The right angle piece of MDF that makes it square) or is it back into the "boot" ?

in the "boot"??? the engine should be in there...

Normal place is under the R&R yes prob where the speakers are.. this is the best place as you can fit a large tank and when doing the LPG conversion you need the largest tank you can poss fit.. yes it means losing space, but a little space lost or double the fuel bill?
not possible to fit tanks under the floor for driving on as the volumes are too small.. in the spare wheel space is silly too, as you have to fit the spare wheel elsewhere..
Wardrobe is popular as this seems to be a wasted space are so people can live with the loss, but the tank isnt as big..

I suppose the only other option is to consider replacing the petrol tank with a much smaller one, or doing away with it completely! Using the available space for the gas tank. I think even then that ground clearance will be a problem if you are to fit a sizable tank. A number of smaller tanks is also a possibility but likely to be expensive.

Personally I have a huge one under my bed/seat. Its one with a vapour take-off for the cooker and fridge too, so all though I have lost some space because of the tank, I save a little by not having to carry a Calor bottle. :)

Unless you want multiple small tanks and lik them together then there are no real alternatives to under the seat and in the wardrobe.. there isnt enough room where the fuel tank lives and ground clearance is an issue for any underneath.. then you cannot get enough volume to reliabley have no petrol/small petrol tank..
There is one panel van on here that runs a dedicated LPG only setup.. but he has a 200L tank IIRC...

Less money to spend or less junk to take....

Note.. I am one of the very early LPG converts on here, nearly 8 years ago now.. I also wrote a feature for an early edition of vw camper and commercial about LPG.. I am also an engineer...

You could always put a round one in the spare wheel area, but then you'd have to put that somewhere, like on the the front maybe.

LPG tanks are far safer than petrol tanks...

When correctly installed...

LPG tanks are pressure vessels and therefor cannot be made (sensibly) "square", therfore you would end up with a long thin tank that holds nothing...
Under the rear seat or a "toroidal" in the wardrobe.. as said before..

Sorry not ignoring you all, the tank with the vapor takeoff looks good.
I like the idea of not carrying the butane bottles :P at the moment my space is for the little camping gaz bottles that are not the cheapest option.
