Trailing Arm Bushes

I managed to get hold of a used trailing arm and it looks like a good idea to replace the bushes.

Any tips on how to get them out and new ones in?

I'd like to know the answer to this too

and out of interest how much do VW want for new trailing arms? (waits for lottery figure)

I picked up a pair for £50 and would like to fit new bushes.

Are they just pushed in or peened over?

I believe they are just pushed in. Use any means to get them out... Pushing, pulling, cutting, burning, oil, KY!
Lubricate new ones well before trying to get in. The easiest way to get them back in would be to use a long bolt with a washer on the head end big enough to cover the new bush and insert bolt through bush and then through training arm. Slide suitable thick washer over threaded end of bolt and tighten a nut up until bush is pulled all the way through trailing arm.
Have fun! :)

Oh yes I remember now - it's because you're doing that job on our camper, isn't it? So get back to it and stop looking at this forum !!!...

But seriously - I hope it's going alright and I'll hear from you this week...

[sorry about thread hijack BTW - couldn't resist]
