sure its been asked before, but cant find answer on the site.

I have just bought the 'bag' awning. the long one 2.8m

How is the best way to attach it to a high top roof?

Can the awning rail be screwed direct into the fibreglass roof?.......

thanks for responses in advance

You can buy a length of awning rail so the awning can be slid on or off. Up to you whether you want to drill holes in your hard-top but if you do make sure you seal the rail properly with some Sikaflex bedding sealant or similar. My `van is a pop-top, and I attached the awning rail to the gutter, it sits inside the gutter and is pop-rivitted through the steel gutter, very unobtrusive (rail I got is a P section with slot in it and it fits the gutter perfectly, most of it is hidden in the well).
The awning is only just high enough though, you have to watch for the sliding door rubbing it, but it`s not a big deal once you figure out how to get it all set up and tensioned. Got the side wall and rear wall for mine to make a room. :)

does anyone have any experience with peel rivets to hold the weight on a fibre glass roof?
