Just about to attempt to change the rocker gaskets on my 1981 Aircooled-which way do I move the big rocker cover clip, up or down? And do I have to remove anything else to do the change-ie exhaust? Thanks.

You need to move it down, use the biggest flat blade screw driver you have, it will help you lever. when replacing you gaskets use some blue seal to help keep the new gasket in place.

cheers

Cheers for all the replys guys. After trapping my fingers behind the spring clip for about five minutes I went in and got my crowbar on it, and it came off a treat. Cleaned it all up as someone had used a setting type gasket goo on it in the past, and stuck a nice new cork gasket on. Didn't use any grease or blue hylomar but hopefully it's all sealed.
