Am over in ireland.... still. Is nearly a whole 5 months livin in the van now 8) Have made a few mods to the old girl during the time to make it a little more comftable, an got a load more stuff to do(got an oven to fit 8) ) Am getting a little bored with the irish telly tho, and my uk freeview box doesnt work over here. Ive been looking at these mini satellite systems. For about £55 i can get the complete setup for the van which will give me loads of channels where ever i am in the world :D I was wondering tho if any1 else has had 1 of these fitted to their van, an wat did they think of it?

the cheaper ones only receive Free To Air transmissions so you will get roughly the freeview stuff plus lots of German language stations. Also the dishes are a bit margnal for use throughout the UK. You may need a bigger one in Ireland but a local firm should be able to advise you on that. After that you will need a clear view of the satellite so have a check for buildings and trees in that direction.

I have problems setting mine up but that is because my compass points at me rather than north! If somebody else has a dish I point in the same general direction and it works OK.
