Maybe it's been said before but:
B&Q sell the silver bubble wrap stuff, which, coupled with stick on velcro can make good thermo/ blackout window mats.
Now I know JK sell them for £60 a set but the above option at £20 a go seems worth a try, I have.
Will let you know how they perform insulation wise, but they certainly do the blackout bit well enough

Yes I looked at that one.
Thing is though, the petrol collection money to newport and back would cost another £40 on top of the £30 purchase fee.
Making them £11 more than the JK new ones
Made my own now, nothing as good as playing with some velcro, some silvered bubble wrap and a sharp knife for an evening

Poundland are doing large sun visors for the front windscreen made from the same stuff bubble wrap and foil, Come all ready with suckers and eyelets need to be cut down a bit and the tape stiched back on but work a treat.

how long is a sheet of this bubble wrap???? how many sheet approx to black out a van?? which section of B & Q will i find this??

I was looking at it today in our local B and Q, seem to remember it being 750mm X 15 metres (may be 12) should be plenty, about 14/15 quid I think. It was near the trade desk in a promotional cardboard display in the leicester store, but expect to find it usually with the other insulation gear, or ask a dimwit.. er, member of staff!

I finished the edges of mine with black duct tape, about 30-40 mm wide, looks fine.

glad to hear that dalmationman!!! beats spending £60 at JK's all day long

i made a set of these from the B and Q thermal wrap stuff lastnight

i am very happy with the end result, only tricky part was the windscreen as it is about 800mm and the wrap is only 600mm wide, but nothing some gaffer tape and some chrome insulation tape couldn't sort out

total cost £23.00
