Changing Brake Pads

Hello,
Haynes manual says to replace a bolt when you put new (front) pads in. (I've got sliding Girling calipers). I think it is should be a special 'threadlock' bolt which jams in nicely. Does anyone know where to get replacements? I was expecting them to come with the pads from JK.

just apply a bit of thread lock to the existing bolt......

Some pad kits have them, some dont..
I have never had a problem reusing the bolts that came out as long as they are in good condition and torqued up properly, DO NOT be tempted to smear the bolts with coppergrease before refitting..

Thanks, I've got hold of some threadlocker, and managed to get the old studs out, but couldn't get the pistons retracted.
I'm off to find some G-clamps today!

remember, mate, if you shove the pistons quite a way back in to make room for the new [thicker] pads, you might end up making the top-up pot overflow, messy!
if need be take some out if it looks like overflowing, a cheap turkey baster syringe thingy from morrisons, believe it or not is handy!

a chisel between the pads and an application of "mild" violence will open the pistons...

G-Clamp did the trick on one side, I had to take the other piston out and clean it. I think it had been jamming on and causing extra wear on that side.
Went back in without any bother then, but of course lots of air went in so I've had to bleed the brakes. And getting the bleed screws undone wasn't easy!
I highly recommend a £3 one way valve bleed kit - it has a clear tube so you can watch for bubbles and won't let any air in.
Thanks for your help.
