Diesel pump "issues"

Hi Folks,
I have what appears to be a small oil leak from the doohickey (sorry for tech term!) on the top rear of the diesel pump on my 1.6 TD (JX). There seems to be a pipe stub on the underside. My questions are...
1 Should there be a pipe on the stub, and if so where should it go?
2 Should there be anything leaking from here anyway?

Thats the LDA actuator (adds fuel under boost), a small amount of misting around it is not a problem. Make sure the hose going to it is not breaking up. If it goes ok you have nothing to worry about, if its lacking power there could be a problem with the actuator.

Thanks Andy, there is a pipe on the top but nothing on the bottom stub is that right?
As for lacking power,

As for lacking power,

Yes that is correct its a breather.
Lack of power, yes i meant if its slower than a normal slow t25 td

What was pushing it
There just a bit slow on the hills and around town, there like a rocket compared to my 60bhp waterboxer though.

Would a 1.9 TD be much better?

Yes much better and easier to improve further but they have there reliabiltiy issues like all the standard t3 engines.

Wifey has a 100 BHP Golf TDI and I have warned that I can't be trusted if she leaves it unattended

Don't think she would even realise if I slotted the 1.6 into hers, anyone free Saturday afternoon

They have reliabilty issues as well which will be made worse in a t3 as it works much harder.
