Just wondering what peoples experiences are here.
Some years ago I converted my 1959 Rover 90 as a DIY project buying my equipment from FES, who were very helpful.
I converted a metro for my wife and a Renault van for my father.
So when I got my T25 air cooled camper a few years ago there was no surprise that I contacted FES and got some kit to convert that too.
Time passed and I didn't get round to doing it.
Then two years ago I took it off the road to rebuild the interior and fitted all my LPG hardware. I also got a duel use tank like the ones available from Gasure. In fact at the time I was on here asking all sorts of stuff about them. I think Gasure may have got them as a result.
The completion of all this work has been delayed by us undertaking a serious DIY house extension, and as the van was off the road we haven had a holiday since.
The pressure is on to get everything done for this summer so we can get away but I'm not sure nowadays where we stand with insurance. With the old Rover I insured with Footman James. There were no problems; fully comp classic policy told them about the conversion, that I did the work myself, no problems. Anyone insure with Footman James?
I understand things are tighter these days and that all the companies expect certificates Etc.
Is this so?
If so where do I stand getting a cert? My conversion is the one with the probe in the exhaust silencer so it is not fully compliant with COP II. I got this particular variant as Nick at FES advised me that it was the best and that the other ways of doing the heating were more problematic and less reliable.
If I need to get my conversion certified can anyone recommend somewhere nearby? Newark Notts. Also how much is that likely to cost?
