On the syncro the right hand rear manifold has sheared off the pipe

its a 2.1L petrol

What is the part I would ask for?
Do GSF do them?
would it be bad for the engine /illegal to drive without it? (if a tad noisy!)

Hi Bob,
Dunno how much these parts cost or anything, but f there is nothing wrong with the part other than it shearing off, could you get it welded back together? My jimny the other week needed a new part where the exhaust meets the cat converter. was going to cost £200 or somethign daft. The garage recomended i take to this little place in blackburn who is good at welding. £20 later and it was fixed.

might be an idea but it has been welded once already Its a stainless pipe too so that night make things more difficult. I think its harder to weld reliably.

It is bad for the engine to be running under load without it. From that pic it looks weldable, was the brace bolted up? Stainless is not bad to weld.

the brace had come away some time ago maybe thats why it finally went. I wonder if the stock parts will match up with this "custom" part? maybe I'll drop it down to the local garage tomorrow and see what they can do...

just for an update ,managed to find a backstreet mechanics during lunch and exchanged a tenner for a quick weld with a bit of reinforcing, predictably I suppose the flange was about 3 mm off true. I am using titanium bolts on the exhaust so thread stripping was a very high likely hood unless it was spot on, a bit of filing and an unorthadox use of a scissor jack and I do beleive we are back on the road! and finished before midnight, result!
