ooops got it slightly wrong its the number 2 valve as i understand it ,garage blokie said it failed its emissions test because of it,says coz its a later model he has to take the head off to adjust it, weather its a seal gone on it im not to sure, its a 1.9 engine dont ask me if its dg or azz or whatever coz aint got a clue lol, but its in a 88 van original engine nay ideas?

then take a look in the log book for the engine code yer lazy get :D

Number two valve....er inlet or exhaust? of which cylinder?..number 2?

the head does not have to come off to "adjust it"

seal? ..valve stem seal?

does the engine smoke a lot then?

ok ok im no techie lol ive looked in log book its a dg,no the engine doesnt smoke much at all really tends to be a little more when she first fires up. erm well he said number 2 so i suppose it means on cylinder number 2,

inlet or exhuast dont know im afraid,

the garage chap said that as its a certain model sumert about hydrolics?? that he cant adjust it in situ and has to send the head away,

seal wise im not sure i know im not alot of help but thats the jist of what the garage chappie was saying

A. He knows his stuff then.

B. He's talking "pooh".

You decide.

Then take the van to someone who knows Vw's or even better T25's. :D

is the engine noisy...a loud tapping? as these vans have hydraulic tappets..if its busted then the head does not have to come off
