What are the best tyres for std wheels ????

Having looked into changing my wheels for alloys, i/we have decided to leave the std wheels on. The tyres are currently commercial vehicle tyres and dont feel that good.

I am planning on lowering the camper by 45mm.

What are the best tyres to fit to std wheels that will both look good and improve the handling?

commercial tyres are a must for the weight of the van , i have 185 r14 on my steelies but just put on som 15 inch alloys with car 195 65 r15 these are not strong enough in the side walls and the van feels awfull , fitting 195 70 r15 6 ply on the alloys . To be honest mate stick with the van tyres car tyres are made for cars !!!

Tyre choice is getting more limited now as rims get bigger..so tyre manufacturers follow the trend

continental still do a nice strong tyre..if you are lowering then make sure the camber and caster are adjusted or the handling will be worse.

The lowering will improve the handling but you will lose the ride quality in my opinion
Brickwerks do polybush inserts for the suspension which is supposed to tighten things up a bit

All the people I know with standard wheels or carat original 14's choose:
205/70R14C, which is the standard tyre fittment (look at the tyre pressure lable in the cab)

For 185-14's I would use the continental Vanco, they are a good wearing tyre and only lose grip when well worn.. ideal for a heavy camper too, much better than the Toyo's I have on now..
