Hi peeps can anyone tell me if a 2lt a/c motor will fit onto a 1600a/c gearbox and will a 2lta/c gearbox fit onto a 1,9 DG Cheers

the gearing on the 1.6 box will be miles out, if i remember correctly

Basically Yes and Yes, the 2.0ltr ac will take the 1600 box but will rev around 500rpm higher than fitted with the correct DK code box, the 2.0ltr box will fit the 1.9DG but you will have to transfer the whole shift linkage too as it is different between the wc and ac boxes, but again it wil fit.
The question back is why, the 2.0ltr is already a thirsty beast and a 1600 gearbox will not help, I use a 1600 box when travelling to the Alps for getting a better power range up the hills but he mpg falls dramatically, and a 2.0ltr box on a 1.9, these are freely available as yet but the DK 2.0 ltr boxes aren't so easy to come by.

Cheers for that guys,Steve the only reason for asking is that a local scrappy has a 2ltr van in and my mate has a 1.6 aircooler and is after a bit more power and the box on my dg is is whining away and has done for some time now so i giess we were gonna try and kill two birds with one stone so to speak

Any ideas on how much a good box is worth (gearbox that is )
