Fitting rear window

I need to fit a new rear window - anyone done this job before?
I know how to do a beaded window but not the unbeaded units.

Only tip I can offer is for you to use sash cord when re-fitting the window, you will find it much easier to work with than anything smaller in diameter.
If you have done this before what is the panic for ?

PS , I find the beaded ones a pain to re-fit ,rather than the un beaded rubbers.......

Well I thought the beaded ones would be much easier to fit because they have the ability to give and flex due to the bead groove.
I spoke with the guy at syncro spares yesterday about how to fit them and he suggested fitting the rubber to the glass and then pulling it into the van body.
I was going to work the other way around - fit rubber to van and pull the glass into it - make sence?
No panic - was just asking for these kinda suggestions.
Lots of soapy water etc you know that sorta thing.
Glass Rubber, Rubber Glass....

window in rubber first. use vaseline or waxoyl rather than washing up liquid(waterproof) and doesnt rot the rubber over time. i find that thick smooth plastic type washing line smeared in the vaseline works well as its proper slippy. pull from inside, it is really simple to do, if i can do one on my own it must be!!!

the waxoyl/vaseline tip is a good one, i can vouch that washing up liquid aint good for certain types of rubber, after using it to help slide on the wear resistant outer tubing on my new fuel inj. hoses, it reacted and swelled up/started to separate the rubber layers. had to replace em again minus the washing up liquid.
