Coast to coast Friday night camping

Has anybody any thoughts to which campsite to use for Friday night? If so maybe we could meet up, have a few beers and get the weekend started.
I'm only asking because it's bank holiday weekend and in my experience campsites start getting full.
We're leaving Friday morning A14, M6 if anybody wants to make a convoy?
