Black stuff in westy hightop gutter?

Lo Guys,
Just removed my canopy awning thingy strapped to my gutter and left some empty spaces in the black stuff.
What is that black stuff, where can I buy it and can I just fill them in?
Think I might put some rust killer in there first as getting crusty.
Cheers

the stuff that fills the gutter. Thinking about it I might leave the gaps open so I can put the canopy on when the awning is not being used

Here you go
All westy hightops should have this gutter infill. I think I might use a rust killer before I put the resulting new black gunk back in.

if its the stuff either side of the hole, it is tigerseal or similar, you will need to get all of it out

and really get to work on that rust. rust eater will not do it alone. the only real way to treat rust is cut it out, remove it.... if you cant then remove as much as you can, then treat it. the gutter is the wettest part of the van and that looks deep and perforated too

nightmare

Not that rusty at all m8, just surface. Think pic makes it look worse than it is.
Don't want to be doing anything major until the season is over.

Stuff to use is Sikaflex 512 Caravan- a polyurethane sealant/adhesive designed for the job-only in white afaik--whatever you use make sure its polyurethane sealant cost £9-£13 a cartridge not silicone sealant which is no good at all--get it from caravan or boat shops--

As Sika 512 only comes in white they recommend Sika 221 and here is the spec sheet.

I am waiting to hear back from some westy specialists before I jump in.
Thought I would let you know
