Brakes pulsing, likely cause?

Hi all,
recently i've noticed a slight pulsing feel to the brakes, not at the pedal, but the last few feet before stopping feel like your'e varying the force on and off, on the pedal, if you know what i mean.
could it be warped or worn discs, or out-of-round drums do ya think?
thanks, wasserleaker.

Mine was a drum, replaced and it went away.

been stood a while? could be a rust patch where it was stopped. Like hacksaw says take em apart and have a look. If it was disks you should feel it through the wheel.

Not necessarily. Last year my van failed the MOT on one disc being 'warped' & an advisory notice for the same thing on the other. There were no noticable adverse affect on the brakes/steering whatsoever.

Two new discs & new pads were fitted, so at least I know everything is ok now. :)

thanks for the replies,
it has been stood a while, when the engine was out for a few months so the rust spot theory sounds good!
checked the discs for rust patches today and spun both front wheels while jacked up , no visible rust or tight spots.
could possibly be warped tho, as bowton lad says. will check drums when i get chance for any rust pitting or tight spots.
