For once duct tape won't do the job  I think it will melt

Go with the exhaust bandage for now, as for alternatives:

A big woolly hat, scarf and gloves or

some extra strong mints

Duct tape or exhaust bandage???

One of the heater pods on my a/c bus has completely disintegrated (mushroom vent rusted away and some of the surrounding metal). I'm not sure if I'll have the time or money to replace it before the winter so I'm thinking of bodging it until next year. I was thinking if I wedge the flap in the hot position and wrap the complete assembly in something then I can keep hot (read:- luke warm) air flowing for now.
Does it get too hot to use duct tape???
Should I wrap it in exhaust bandage instead???
Is there something even better that I haven't considered???

I plan to replace both pods next year so it only need to be a temporary measure.

Cheers
Toby

take both heater pods off including elbows and fabricate (bodge) a peice of flexy pipe inbetween exchanger and heater tube, its easier than you think, but it will blow hot all the time cheers cj.
