Anyone stripped out one of these and fitted a panel like JK's J10631? I'm about to get some bodywork and spraying done on the offside following some insured damage. The wheelarch was already holed and patched and I'm considering putting in a new panel prior to the insurance work.

Prior to the damage, I'd already stripped out the interior and rebuilt the floor and cill panel on the offside and then rebuilt a nice interior. I'm trying to evaluate whether it's worthwhile replacing the panel. Does anyone know if there are clever ways of fitting same without stripping out too much inside? Also is there a panel available from another supplier that incudes the inward-turning profile of the existing panel as opposed to the "straight-up" flange on J10631

I include a link to the pic of JK's panel, the equivalent on my van turns inboard about 20mm above the first swageline

I suggest you also look at Schofield's parts :-

I spoke to Rod from Rods Aussie VW's

this week and he said the Schofield panels were much better - I fitted a front wheel arch from JK and was not impressed with the finish. He also says Schofield's parts fit better!
